Skandasana – Skanda is the name of Kartikeya, the god of War, whose birth forms the subject matter of Kumara-sambhava, the epic poem written by Kalidasa.
Technique for Skandasana
- Do Eka Pada Sirshasana.
- With an exhalation, bend the trunk forward and hold the outstretched right leg with both hands as in Paschimottanasana and rest the chin on the right knee.
- Extend the chin to prevent the leg from slipping off.
- Stay in the pose for about 20 seconds with deep breathing.
